We had the chance to repair ornamental plaster decorations within this stunning piece of architecture which is a great example of the historic buildings Glasgow is famous for. The basement of the property has been split up and turned into a separate property, which involved installing a wall that caused the cornice to be cut off. We were hired to take a sample of the cornice decoration to then make silicone moulds that would allow us to reproduce the detailed ornamental plasterwork. Before we created the silicone mould, we removed the layers of paint that were on the decoration. The client also ordered four ceiling roses from us, three Eden Ornamental Plaster Ceiling Rose and one Heather Ornamental Plaster Ceiling Rose. The addition of the ceiling roses enhanced the feel of the rooms and added decorative flair to this historic building. The original decorative cornice also had to be repaired in some places, the before and after picture shows how we successfully blended in the newly made decoration into the existing cornice.
